"Ready to go on Erranty" is one of the drawings that don't really tell a story ~ except for the title, that is. The idea for it originally started from a sketch of the hunting garb I designed for Elrond's twin sons. And evolved from there into this not-quite-portrait of the two. They're alike but not identical - a thought that I think fascinating about twins.
In many stories the authors describe subtle differences between Elladan and Elrohir, only noticed by those familiar with both sons of Elrond. In the "Lord of the Rings", Tolkien gives very little detail about them, their looks or age - so, like all Elves, I see them as tall, beautiful, dangerous creatures. Elegant, but not frail. I hope that comes across in this pic.
Also, I am quite proud to have given a bit more attention to detail in this one - you'll notice that it's not just a sketch of the clothing: they have bags and blankets and weapons ready for their trip. Usually, I don't bother with that much detail - I did skip the background on this picture (as on many others).
