This is from a time when there was a slight shift in my cast of muses. The people of Imladris, and all the Third Age, were pushed to the back while characters from the Silm demanded my attention more. And among those, a lot of children... Maybe because I thought it comforting that even those fierce, cruel sons of Feanor had been young and carefree once.
This looks at a sweet innocent moment in the youth of Maedhros and Fingon - claimed by some to have been the one canon slash pairing in Tolkien's writing. Well, I wouldn't know about that ~ but a girl can dream. And in this case, even if they could never have been so close in age, they're very good friends (and Maedhros is Fingon's hero, anyway).
