Startling, indeed. The excerpt I got to read as a teaser for the art contributors for this issue was intriguing enough. And although some of the stuff in this story is not what I would actively go looking for, I truly enjoyed this story and working on an illustration. I suppose it was the fact that the main character is an artist that appealed to me.
It was also a challenge at drawing something different for a change. No Elves, no pointed ears, and no robes...
