"Heaven and Hell", Aziraphale, Crowley, G

'Heaven and Hell', rated G

Indian ink and watercolours on 300g watercolour paper

Aziraphale and Crowley are characters from "Good Omens. The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, witch." by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Aziraphale, former Angel guarding the Gate at the East of Eden and now Principality of England, and Crowley -formerly known as Crawly- his demonic counterpart. The two have been on Earth for almost 6,000 years and don't take the "eternal enemies" thing too seriously anymore... In fact, they even have an Arrangement, which leads them to work together to avert Armageddon.

I don't remember clearly how I stumbled across "Good Omens" - might have been a chance discovery on the internet, or an impulse buy in a bookstore... whatever it was, I'm really grateful to have discovered it, and after just one read it shot up to take a place between my top ten favourite books ever. Which is not easy, considering the many books I've read...

Their looks are probably influenced by some of the "Good Omens" artwork I've found on the net, but still... This is my personal version of the two characters, and even though there are a few small details that don't quite match the description in the book I think they look rather nice. :)
