Someone has dubbed this "cravat porn". I'd say it's two officers of His Majesty's Royal Navy helping each other with the intricate dress code of the Navy... but of course, you're free to let your imagination run wild. ;)

If any explanation was needed, I'd say I've been indulging in my obsession with hands and hair and fabric folds. And although the original is rather small and grey, it's amazing what you can do with a high-resolution scan and some digital tweaking. I'm particularly pleased with the outcome of the shades of red, brown and copper on the hair, and the yellowed quality of the whole picture.

But I suppose that's already more ramblings than are necessary here.
